Data export and switching providers

The tool

• Provision: in the browser via the button under “My Data”. No installation, no separate program.
• Sign-in: with your HIRIO account, by email code or via LinkedIn.
• Result: a ZIP archive with all exportable data, ready to download immediately.
• Not provided: a programming interface (API), a test environment for trial migrations, and direct transfer to specific providers.

Procedure

1. Sign in to HIRIO and open “My Data”.
2. Select “Export all data as ZIP”. HIRIO compiles the archive and your browser downloads it.
3. Import the data into the new service or your own system, provided it reads these formats.
4. Then decide whether to keep or delete your account. No cancellation is needed; passes end automatically.

Contents of the archive

• LIESMICH.txt — overview of the archive contents. Folder and file names in the archive are in German.
• daten/ — one JSON file per area with all stored entries. The complete list of areas is below. An area without entries is an empty list.
• lebenslauf/ — your master CV and all variants in JSON Resume format.
• chatverlaeufe.csv — all stored chat messages, one row per message.
• fotos/, uploads/, unterschrift/, zertifikate/, logos/, rechnungen/, feedback/ — your files: photos (including AI photos), uploaded documents, signature, certificates, company logos, invoices, images from feedback reports and attachments from messages, each in the format in which it was stored.

Categories of exportable data

Complete list of the areas in the folder daten/, grouped by topic. In addition, the files in the folders listed above.

Formats and standards

• ZIP: one archive containing all files.
• JSON as per RFC 8259, character set UTF-8, timestamps as per ISO 8601.
• JSON Resume: an open schema for CVs (jsonresume.org) that other CV tools can import.
• CSV based on RFC 4180, with a semicolon as separator and UTF-8 with BOM so that spreadsheet programs display special characters correctly.
• Images and documents in the format in which they were stored, e.g. JPEG, PNG, PDF or DOCX.

Not included

Exactly these categories are excluded from the export:

• Access data and keys, e.g. for sign-in and notifications. They are a security risk and say nothing about you.
• Our know-how: prompts, rating rules, weightings, recommendations from our database and our document templates. These are trade secrets of HIRIO.
• Cost, provider and model of each AI request. This is our internal calculation.
• Features of our abuse protection. Disclosed, it would be ineffective.
• Internal operating fields: identifiers of other systems, counters, interim states, check values and display switches.
• Internal ratings, e.g. the AI classification of feedback and quality scores. Notes and messages to you or about you are included in the export.
• Data of third parties, e.g. contact details of headhunters and their objections. This is not data about you.
• Interim states of running analyses and research. The result is included in the export.
• Designed documents: HIRIO generates your CV, cover letter and application folder anew from your content and our templates each time. The archive contains the content; you download the PDF files in HIRIO.
• Conversations with the career coach within applications. We do not store them; they exist only during the session in your browser.

Periods and terms

• The export is free of charge. We charge nothing for switching to another provider or to your own system.
• No notice period: you can retrieve the export immediately at any time, without announcing a switch. For a formal switch to another provider under the Data Act, the annex to our terms applies in addition.
• No retrieval deadline: you can retrieve the export on every plan. When your pass ends, your account remains with the free basic features, and so does the export, until you delete the account.
• You delete your account yourself in your profile; before that, we offer the export. On deletion we remove your data. Without link to the account we keep: purchases with their history, invoices, withdrawals, cancellations and the related emails, due to legal retention and evidence obligations, as well as upgrade blocks after a withdrawal, to prevent abuse.
• We delete accounts without a sign-in for 24 months. We remind you by email 90, 30 and 7 days beforehand so that you can export your data in time.

Security and continuity

• The transfer is encrypted (HTTPS).
• Only someone signed in to the account can retrieve the export. It contains exclusively the data of that account.
• The ZIP format stores a checksum (CRC-32) for each file, so unpacking programs report damaged files.
• The export only reads. It changes and deletes nothing, and HIRIO remains fully usable in the meantime.

Known limitations and risks

• The archive contains personal data, including photos and invoices. Store it securely and pass it on only to services you trust.
• You download the archive yourself and import it into the other service. Whether that service reads these formats depends on the other service.
• HIRIO stores some details that the JSON Resume standard schema does not define (e.g. driving licence). Other programs may not import them.
• The archive is compiled anew on each retrieval and reflects your data at that moment.
